Three long-term initiatives that develop contemporary art in Trutnov and the surrounding area — site-specific interventions, a collection of young artists' work, and a Baroque chapel with a modern altar.

Project 01

Art Point

Baroque St. Joseph's Chapel in Slavětín with a modern altar. An intimate cultural space 15 minutes from the gallery.

A chapel that
opens up to art.

The renovated St. Joseph's Chapel is located in the village of Slavětín, about 15 minutes from the EPO1 gallery. The dilapidated building was purchased by the Kaspers and transformed beyond recognition — its design and furnishings are linked to the EPO1 gallery.

The interior is dominated by a modern altar featuring wire sculptures by Veronika Psotková — St. Joseph with the infant Jesus and angels. A steel Lily by Michal Gabriel stands in front of the chapel. The chapel serves as an Art Point for intimate events (concerts, author readings) and is open only during these times; groups of 10 or more can arrange an individual tour.

Events in the chapel

Project 02

Power for Space

As the name suggests, this project extends beyond the gallery space itself. "Space" is an underrated work of art—a canvas without which nothing would exist. One of EPO1's initiatives is the installation of sculptures in public spaces.

Project 03

Fresh Power

One of the main ideas behind EPO1 is to support young artists. As part of the Fresh Power project, we purchase sculptures from the youngest generation of creators and build a collection of their work, which forms part of the gallery's permanent exhibition.
